Integration & Setup

Where can I find my etracker code?

You can find your etracker code in your etracker account under Integration → Website Code. The tracking code provided here contains your unique account key and can be integrated unchanged.

Where in the source code must the etracker code be integrated?

In order to ensure correct data collection, the etracker code must be integrated within the <head> area.

Can I use the Google Tag Manager to integrate etracker analytics?

Yes, the etracker tracking code can be played out via the Google Tag Manager (GTM). You can find instructions for the basic integration here: https://help.etracker.com/article/einbindung-in-google-tag-manager/ But remember that you must obtain your users’ consent before using the GTM in order to comply with data protection regulations. In doing so, you also realize the freedom of consent of etracker analytics. We therefore recommend integrating the etracker code directly and using the integrated etracker tag manager for the tag configuration and for third-party tags.

How do I prevent my own accesses from being counted in etracker?

You can use the objection link in the privacy policy on your website to create a cookie in your browser in order to exclude yourself from being counted in the future. You can also exclude entire IP ranges from your own company from being counted. You can find this setting in the account under Account → Domain filter → IP block. Administrator rights are required for this function.

Why are the IP addresses displayed in abbreviated form?

The IP addresses are anonymized by default in order to comply with the applicable data protection laws.

How can I reset the recorded data?

Within the etracker account, under the menu item Integration → Statistics reset menu item, you can delete the recorded data.

Wrappers can be used to transfer virtual page breaks to our system. The wrapper can be integrated manually or configured automatically via the etracker tag manager. You can find more information on this under: Measuring Single-Page Applications.

Why are no visitors recorded?

One reason why no data is recorded may be that the etracker code has not been implemented or has not been implemented correctly. In order for etracker to record visitors, it is necessary to integrate the etracker code within the <head> area on each page to be measured.

Where can I find my account key?

You can find your personal account key in your etracker account under the menu item Account Account → Account key.

Within the etracker tracking code, the account key identifies the account whose tracking code is being used at the time of data collection. The under Integration → Website code contains this unique account key and can be integrated unchanged.
