Extended positioning of the banner box in the Consent Manager
The positioning of the Banner Box in the Consent Manager has been extended to offer more flexibility in the placement of the Consent Banner.
New centered positioning option
In addition to the previous left/right and top/bottom positions, the banner box can now also be displayed horizontally and vertically centered.
This allows the banner to be used, for example:
- centered on the side
- centered at the top edge
- centered at the bottom edge
place.
This extension enables a more flexible adjustment of the banner position to different layouts and design requirements of websites.

Improvement of content blocking in the Consent Manager
The content blocking function in the Consent Manager has been expanded to make the release of external content more convenient and consistent for users.
Permanent storage of consent per provider
If users release a previously blocked external content, this consent will be saved permanently in the future.
The storage takes place in the et_oi_services cookie and is linked to the respective category and provider.
This means that the consent given automatically applies to all content from the same provider on the website. Users therefore do not have to give their consent multiple times for individual content from the same service.
New key figures and adjustments to the dashboard
The dashboard has been expanded and visually optimized. The aim is to provide additional insights into user activity and improve the presentation of individual key figures.
New key figures
The following key figures have been added to the dashboard:
- Daily Active Users (DAU)
Average number of active visitors per day in the selected period. - Monthly Active Users (MAU)
Estimated number of unique users within the last 30 days. The calculation is based on the number of visits in the last 30 days and the frequency of visits by users with accepted cookies. - Engagement rate (DAU / MAU)
Ratio of daily active users to monthly active users as a percentage. This key figure provides information on how often users are active on the website within a month.

Design adjustments
In addition, visual optimizations have been made to the dashboard. The tiles for hits and messages are now visible on most screen resolutions and have been visually changed.

Improved variable syntax in the Tag Manager
The processing of variables in the Tag Manager has been adapted to enable more flexible use and to facilitate the migration of existing implementations – especially from the Google Tag Manager.
New variable syntax
In future, variables can be used directly without string constraints. Instead of the previous notation within quotation marks
"{{variable}}"
variables can now be used in the form
{{variable}}
be integrated.
This means that variables can also return data types other than strings in future.
Automatic adaptation of existing implementations
To ensure that existing configurations continue to function without changes, variables that are already in use are migrated automatically:
- Previous variables in the form
"{{variable}}", which were used as a string, are converted internally to'[[variable]]'. - This also applies to uses within functions, e.g.
JSON.parse("{{variable}}").
All existing tags, triggers and variables remain functional. No adjustments to existing configurations are necessary.
Extension of the Consent Manager: New languages
The Consent Manager has been enhanced to provide additional languages and improve the configuration of the default language displayed.
New languages available
The following languages have been added to the list of languages available in the Consent Manager:
- Japanese
- Korean
- Russian
- Traditional Chinese (Taiwan)
- Simplified Chinese
- Turkish
The corresponding standard translations of the content categories (e.g. Marketing, Functional, Statistics, Necessary) are now also available for these languages.

Improvements to the Consent Blocker
Optimization of the display and behavior of the Consent Blocker:
- The setting “Round corners” is now not only applied correctly in the opt-in dialog, but also in the Consent Blocker.
- The Agree button now has a fixed distance of 12 px to ensure a consistent display.
- The button can no longer cover text.
- If the available space in the Consent Blocker is insufficient, the text area automatically becomes scrollable so that all content remains accessible.
These adjustments ensure a more consistent look as well as better readability and usability of the Consent Blocker on smaller display areas.

Improvement of the Google Analytics upload for e-commerce events
We have rechecked and optimized the upload of e-commerce events to Google Analytics. This was due to anomalies where significantly fewer or no e-commerce events were arriving in Google Analytics.
As part of the analysis, it was checked whether the events are sent in full from etracker to Google and whether there are any possible restrictions or blocking on the part of Google. Based on this analysis, adjustments were made to improve the transmission and traceability of e-commerce events.
Result:
- The sending of e-commerce events to Google Analytics was validated again.
- The processing and forwarding of events has been optimized to ensure more reliable transmission.
- Potential causes for missing or reduced event numbers were analyzed and addressed.
These changes help to ensure that e-commerce events arrive more consistently in Google Analytics and reduce deviations in data collection.
